“Gao Lei”, the artist’s eponymously named solo exhibition at Asia Art Center Taipei II. Spanning installation, photography, painting and other mediums, Gao Lei’s works deconstruct, displace, and amalgamate everyday objects to subvert their respective social roles, meandering through order and chaos, discreteness and ambiguity, through a field of alienation. Gao Lei was born in 1980 in Changsha. Graduated in 2006 from the Central Academy of Fine Arts with a BA in Digital Media, Gao Lei currently lives and works in Shanghai.
